Concept and anthropology of terror

Today’s Middle East Analysis podcast – the last before the summer break – sees our studio guest Dr Harry Hagopian take a philosophical line on terrorism.

Reflecting on the Nice lorry attack that killed at least 84 people in southern France, Dr Hagopian discusses the causes as well as the symptoms of modern terrorism and how tactics have changed over the years.

He looks at the anthropology of terror and discusses why the spate of attacks in Europe and, indeed, the Ramadan attacks in Iraq, Turkey, Yemen and Lebanon are so hard to combat.
